Beaufort Dining Favorites
205 Scott Street, Downtown Beaufort, 843-524-4330
We highly recommend stopping by Blackstone’s in downtown Beaufort for a classic American breakfast or lunch assortment. Our breakfast favorites include the Cajun Shrimp & Grits, buttermilk pancakes, veggie omelets, walnut cinnamon buns. Our people just love the Blackstone’s club, shrimp salad plate, and almond chicken wraps for lunch.
71 Sea Island Pkwy, Lady’s Island, 843-379-3288
For me, there’s no question in my mind that Dockside is the best seafood in Beaufort. Fishcamp is next in line, and many locals may disagree. I always dig into a pot of steamed oysters accompanied by a Dockside Dinner that entails broiled lobster, steamed scallops, steamed crab legs, corn on the cob, and a baked potato. This is my kind of place. If you don’t love seafood, steak and chicken dinners are also available. Enjoy your lunch or dinner overlooking the water.
1509 Salem Road, Beaufort, Open Thursday & Friday Only
To be honest, Beaufort is packed full of stellar barbeque restaurants. We almost selected Q on Bay for its incredible atmosphere, but if you want to experience true southern food and BBQ, there is no better option than Dukes. The buffet-style cafeteria atmosphere is low-key, but the food and friendly staff make up for it.
831 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort, 843-379-1500

The company also operates an extensive library of localized craft beers, homemade ice cream, and famous brats in a family-friendly setting.

1699 11th Street, Port Royal SC, 843-379-2248
Truthfully, this local favorite offers a delicious assortment of appetizers and seafood dinners. Fishcamp is available in Beaufort and Hilton Head Island. Our family enjoys the jalapeno hushpuppies, Daufuskie blue crab cake, oysters, Lowcountry Boil, fried shrimp, and blackened Carolina Catfish.
The Chocolate Tree

There is no question that Giuseppi’s is the local darling for pizza. Our family also loves Mellow Mushroom, so we couldn’t just exclude them from this list. The restaurant chain started in Atlanta, Georgia, and hosts hundreds of locations across the country these days. They are usually excluded from top lists on other local websites, but their tasty pizza shouldn’t be discounted just because they are a franchise-based corporation.

Charlie’s L’etoile Verte
New Orleans Rd, Hilton Head Island, 843-785-9277
After a short trip to France and a long stint in the fast-paced hotel kitchens of Washington DC, Charlie Golson was ready to move back closer to home and start a family. At that time, he opened up a one-room French-inspired bistro to showcase the food and culture he was so fond of. The restaurant has grown over the years, but the ‘Green Star’ remains steadfast in offering the finest ingredients the Low country has to offer with a menu that is handwritten daily. Read our review.

149 Lighthouse Road, Hilton Head Island, 843-363-2272
The two Crazy Crab restaurants are wildly popular with tourists and residents -and for a good reason. The food is yummy. I always order the fried seafood basket and oysters. The kids chomp down on chicken tenders, and we are all pleased. We also like to end the afternoon or evening with a chocolate peanut butter pie.
